Here’s an itinerary that will let you discover the region’s treasures while enjoying the luxurious surroundings of the château.
Departure from Paris and discovery of the Châteaux of the Loire Valley
Departure from Paris
Leave Paris in the early morning. You can take the train (TGV) from Gare Montparnasse to Tours, a journey of around 1h15. If you prefer to drive, allow around 2h30 to reach Château d’Artigny.
Arriving at Château d’Artigny
Once you’ve arrived, settle into your room at Château d’Artigny, a magnificent 18th-century château transformed into a luxury hotel. Take time to explore the château’s gardens and facilities.
Lunch in Amboise
Lunch: After settling in, head for Amboise, about 40 minutes away by car. Have lunch in a restaurant overlooking the Loire or on the terrace of a café in the historic center.
Afternoon: Visit Château de Chenonceau
Spend the afternoon exploring Château de Chenonceau, one of the most beautiful châteaux on the Loire, nicknamed the “Château des Dames”. Stroll through its gardens and admire its unique architecture spanning the Cher River.
Return to Château d’Artigny:
In the late afternoon, return to Château d’Artigny. Enjoy the spa or a stroll in the park before dinner.
Dinner at Château d’Artigny
Enjoy a gourmet dinner at the château’s restaurant, where you can sample refined dishes prepared with local produce.
Day 2 : Wines and History in the Loire Valley
Morning: Visit Villandry
Start the day with breakfast at the château, overlooking the Indre valley.
Then head to the Château de Villandry, famous for its magnificent formal gardens. Spend the morning exploring the various themed gardens and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the setting.
Noon: Lunch in Tours
Stop off in Tours, about 20 minutes from Villandry. Have lunch in one of the restaurants in Vieux Tours, a historic district of half-timbered houses. Don’t miss the chance to sample local specialties such as Tours rillettes and goat’s cheese.
Afternoon: Wine tasting in Vouvray
After lunch, set off for Vouvray, some 20 minutes from Tours. Visit a winery and take part in a wine tasting of the Vouvray appellation, renowned for its sweet and sparkling whites.
In the late afternoon, return to Château d’Artigny for a final moment of relaxation.
Return to Paris
Collect your belongings and prepare for your return to Paris. If you’re traveling by train, you can catch a late-afternoon TGV from Tours station and be back in Paris by early evening.
